130 Recipes Your Dog Will Love!

Are you wondering . . .

  • Which foods should my dog or puppy have?
  • How much should I feed him?
  • Which food items should I NEVER feed my dog?

You can safely give your dog most normal lamb and rice combinations. This not only takes care of the nutritional needs of your dog, it reduces the risk of allergies and other health disorders.

There are a lot of dog foods available today. First learn to read the label. Ingredients are listed in descending order by percentage. Therefore, the first 3-4 ingredients make up the bulk of the food content.

The first ingredient should be meat and should be listed by exactly what kind of meat. For example, it should say “chicken meal” rather than “poultry meal” or “lamb meal” and not “meat meal” as the terms poultry and meat can indicate it is any kind of bird or any kind of meat and may or may not have come from a controlled environment.

Meats should simply be the kind of meat or meal and not a by-product. By-products can cause diarrhea and do not have much nutritional value.

Lower quality foods have a higher proportion of grains. It takes a lot more grain to provide the nutritional needs of a dog than meat and vegetable products would take. This means that, while the bag of food is cheaper, you will be feeding more of it each day, so you will be buying more of it.

Also, the more grain that is in the food (and the more of it that is fed), the more feces will be produced. That will be a problem for a dog that cannot go to his potty place throughout the day. His bowels may be very full and he may be unable to get to his potty place, causing “accidents” and a very upset dog. Other problems with high-grain content foods are molds and mold spores which can cause many health dangers to your dog. Bloating, a life-threatening situation, is especially common with a high corn content. Excessive energy for a couple of hours will also occur immediately after eating.

Which Tools, Equipment and Supplies should you use for Dog Grooming?

Different tools have different functions to perform.

As professional dog groomers know, formation of mats and tangles is a very common problem in many dogs. Mats and Tangles can actually mean big trouble for any dog owner. Ask me!!

So the best way out of this is to prevent them from forming in the first place. And doing this is simple: just comb and brush your dog regularly. If and when you see any mats and tangles, use a detangle solution and comb with a medium-toothed comb.

The other important grooming activity that every dog parent has to do regularly is:

Brushing

So, lets talk about brushes. Now there are at least six different types of brushes available in the market, each having a specific function.

Brush, Large Pin – this brush is commonly used for regular brushing of long-coated large dogs.

Brush, Small Pin – this type of brush is used for brushing long-coated small dogs.

Brush, Rubber – this brush is designed for use on short-coated dogs.

Brush, Slicker – this brush is used for nearly every breed of dog to release dirt and pull loose hair form the dog’s coat.

Brush, Bristle (soft, medium, and stiff) – these brushes are sued on different short-coated breeds, for regular brushing and to remove the undercoat of certain long-coated breeds.

Brush, Boar’s Bristle – this brush works great for removing the undercoat of long-coated breeds and also helps in getting rid of mats in the undercoat.

Most people think that dog grooming means brushing ONLY.

However, grooming also includes bathing, cleaning eyes and ears, clipping nails, clipping hair etc. besides brushing.

Nevertheless, brushing does form an important and integral part of grooming. Also, you can’t pick up any brush and start brushing. Mind you, only by choosing the correct brush and knowing the correct technique of brushing can you hope to accomplish the benefits of brushing your dog or puppy.

If your Dog or Puppy is driving you crazy with its excessive barking, whining or chewing, or if your dog is too aggressive and bites or growls at your visitors, you need an immediate remedy. Subscribe to The FREE Training Course and learn how you can easily turn your unruly and disobedient Dog into a loving friendly companion.

Dogs have their own set of behavioral problems. Lack of proper training methods may badly affect your dog's behavior and turn your beloved pet into a disobedient, aggressive or unruly dog. As a dog owner you should be aware of these problems and train your dog accordingly.

If your dog bites or tears up your furniture, this is not the dog’s fault. These are types of behavior problems that most dogs show signs of having and it’s up to you, the owner, to train your dog to know what is acceptable and what is not.

Aggression related dog behavior problems include biting, jumping, barking uncontrollably and not obeying commands. Once a dog ages from a puppy to an adult, it will become much harder to train. Training should start from an early stage, so that these tendencies do not become dog behavior problems.
